As Obama Falters, Matthews Gets Slammed
As President Obama falters, Chris Matthews seems to look dumber (and more like a sorry suckup) every day.
And now Matthews is coming in for more and more criticism.
After all, it was Matthews who helped to create the myth of Obama as The Savior. And it's been Matthews who has worshiped at the alter of Obama for more than three years.
But now, the veil is being lifted and the shrine that the media (with Matthews leading the way) erected to Obama is starting to crumble.
And the the truth is finally being spoken.
Here's what Tucker Carlson had to say about Matthews on Fox News last night:

“It’s excruciating for Chris to listen to other people talk. You can see the kind of pain in his face but, y’know, he’s spent the last couple of years just sucking up to this guy [Obama], sniffing his throne really in an obsequious and embarrassing way, humiliating himself on behalf of Obama. It must be difficult to watch what’s happened to the country.”
“Well, very few people have done more to divide the country than Chris Matthews, I would say. So it’s very hard to hold him up as someone who brings us together because he’s very much a divider.”Go, Tucker, go!

GOP Decries 'Shocking' Obama Appointment
Fox News is reporting that President Obama has "outraged Republicans by directly appointing six officials this week without the consent of Congress, including his pick for deputy attorney general, who once compared the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks to the drug trade."
Here's more:Rep. Peter King of New York has called Cole's appointment "shocking."Obama appointed four new U.S. ambassadors, along with the U.S. public printer and the deputy attorney general. The latter, James Cole, had been in limbo since he was nominated in May, though his name did clear the Senate Judiciary Committee over the summer. Republicans had questioned his past consulting work with bailed-out insurance giant AIG but had been particularly critical of his stance on prosecuting terror suspects. That concern flared up again after Obama installed Cole on Wednesday. Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., incoming chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, accused Cole of wanting to pursue terror suspects as a criminal matter in civilian courts. He cited a 2002 Legal Times column in which Cole called the Sept. 11 attacks "criminal acts of terrorism against a civilian population" -- like the Oklahoma City bombing. Cole went on to write that the United States has faced "many forms of devastating crime," from the drug trade to organized crime to rape and child abuse. "The acts of Sept. 11 were horrible, but so are these other things," he wrote.

Senate Dems Already Worried Sick Over 2012
The 2010 election is barely over and Senate Democrats facing re-election in 2012 are already worried sick over their prospects. They not only fear the Dems will lose control of the Senate, they fear they're seats will be the ones costing the party control of the upper house.
In 2012, the Democrats have to defend 23 seats in the Senate while the GOP need only defend 10. That's a tall order for the Dems.
And selected pundits are already dismissing the Dem's chances. Here's how Fox News reports it:

Some analysts, who have already begun digging in to the 2012 races, give Republicans the advantage. Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics says, "There are 13 Democrats who are vulnerable to very vulnerable, while there are just six Republicans who are vulnerable to very vulnerable."Click here to read the full story from Fox.Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) admits she's feeling the heat. When asked about her 2012 re-election bid she replied, "I'd be less than honest if I didn't say that I was worried."
McCaskill is likely to be among the GOP's top targets, which will probably also include: Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and Jim Webb (D-Va.).
And McCaskill acknowledges that Democrats have an uphill battle, "The voters obviously spoke very loudly a few weeks ago, and I heard them." Other Democrats facing re-election, like Senator Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) are publicly floating the idea of retiring altogether.
How To Protest NPR's Firing Of Juan Williams
The firing of Juan Williams by National Public Radio is a disgrace. Williams is an intelligent, reasoned journalist, a widely-respected author and a thought-provoking and enlightening columnist and commentator. National Public Radio is nothing more than a slightly glorified Montessori School for overgrown jerks.
It's shameful.
Williams merely expressed certain sentiments that are fairly and legitimately felt by millions of people -- not just in America but all over the world. But this was too much for the smug politically-correct crowd that now threatens our most cherished freedoms and liberties.
I had the privilege of meeting Juan Williams and spending some time with him when he came to speak to the members of a professional association and I was the director of communications for that same association. He was one of our most popular speakers -- thorough, incisive, entertaining and informative. He is a consummate professional.
Click here and tell the NPR Ombudsman exactly what you think about the firing of Juan Williams.
Or try calling NPR Listener Services: (202) 513-3232 (Hours: 10am to 5pm ET, Monday through Friday).
Let NPR know loud and clear: This nonsense MUST stop!
BTW: Congratulations to Fox News for keeping Juan Williams on the air.

Polls Show GOP Maintaining Wide Lead
Two new polls show the Republican Party manitaining a wide lead in both House and Senate races as we enter the stretch run toward the November 2 elections.
In the new Gallup Poll the genric congressional ballot has the GOP leading Democrats 53% to 40% in a high turnout scneario and 56% to 38% in the event of a low turnout.
In either case, these GOP figures exceed the 1994 figures when Republicans swept the elections from coast to coast and captured the House and the Senate.
And this same Gallup Poll showed Republicans leading Democrats by 20% in enthusiastic voters. This dramatic difference has come to be known as the "enthusiasm gap." Republicans have it. Democrats don't.
Click here for more on the Gallup Poll.
Now, on to the Fox News/Opinion Dynamics Poll.
This poll looked at five Senate races in five key states and found Republicans in good position to gain two seats from Democrats and hold onto two seats currently held by Republicans. Democrats seem likely (for now) to hold onto the fith seat.
Hey, four out of five ain;t bad. And the fifth seat's still within striking distance.
Here's how the poll braks down:
GOP pickups: West Virginia and Nevada.
GOP holds: Ohio and Missouri.
Democrat hols: Connecticut.
