1973 900 Z1. An Astounding Restoration!

I'm lifting this post straight out of The ADV rider thread I saw it in.  Too good to let it pass.  Thanks 1upand4down.

In 1973 my dad bought this 900 Z1 new. I was 16 years old and he would let
me ride it. He had other Kaw's he would let me ride like a 69 and 71 500 H1's.
But there was nothing like the Super four 900. He sold the Z1 in 1975 to a friend of mine brother-in-law and he sold to his son's friend a few years later.
I bought the Z1 back in 2005 and did a complete restro. Took about 3 years to
complete but was worth every minute and dollar. My dad got to ride it some that year and he really enjoyed it. He's 79 now and I'm not sure if he
will get to ride it any more but maybe. It's suppose to be in the next issue of Moto Retro Illustrated magazine.

Reader Ride! GSX 1100 From Croatia!

Ivan from Croatia writes in:

Hi,
I like to read your blog, it's one of the first things I do each morning. Today I was surprised I
couldn't open it, but later it was accessible. It's great and you have a lot of great pics!
I'm sending you a photo of my work, so that you can see what we are doing through the winter, here
in Croatia.

Thank you Ivan!  Great bike!  I like the all the upgrades.
We're all good now folks.  Looks like just a google glitch although from what I've read a lot of bloggers got it MUCH worse.

Really Nice Honda VF1000R. Also Known As "The Pig".

I've never ridden one but I've read more than once that the weight of this bike earned it the nickname among racers as "the pig". It's no pig on the eyes though.

Reader Ride! A Killer Katana From Iceland!

I'm pretty sure this is our first Icelandic Bike! And what a great way to start! A lot of people didn't/don't like the styling of these bikes. I don't know why exactly. Yes it was very different at the time and there hasn't been much like it since but I personally wish there was more bold design like this from Japan.

Anyway, thank Much Duddi!
Here is my Katana 1982

Reader Ride! A Perfect Pantah!

One sweet Ducati Pantah!

Reader Trevor Perry writes in:
Love your blog.
Here are some photos of my 1981 Ducati 600SL Pantah taken by my friend Richard Glover http://www.richardglover.com/  I have plenty of others if these aren't suitable.

I've owned it since 1988 but it was off the road for over a decade until I restored it 2 years ago. Now it back on the road and I'm having fun.
Regards

What a gorgeous ride! These are outstanding Trevor! Thanks!

Reader Ride. Probably THE Nicest Custom GS1000S On The Planet.

Shannon Hayes Writes in.

Here are some pics of my GS1000S project bike, The guys at Yoshimura put it on there web site under fan photos, so I was thinking you guys might like to see it? I put it together from a 1979 GS1000 and lots of bits from my friends atSteel's Cycle Salvage, the forks, swingarm, wheels, and brakes came from a GSF1200, and oil cooler, levers, and foot pegs from a GSX-R 750. The motorand amazing carb conversion was done buy Eddie at Sisneros Speed Works, the carbs are from a late model FZ1 and the motor has a Wiseco big bore kit. The paint and body work was done by DJ at Str8 Customs. I did the extensive fabrication work myself, but with out my friends It would not have been possible. I hope you guys enjoy the pics and story.

That's just... damm.. I'm just speechless.  Thanks VERY much for the pics including yesterdays CB750 Cafe and tomorrow's X-Strom
